Founded in 1996, Texas Insurance Professionals Services, Inc., is a subsidiary of Professional Insurance Agents Texas, an affiliate of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents.  Our mission is to provide quality, affordable Errors and Omissions, Cyber, and Umbrella coverage to our members and other independent insurance agents across Texas.  Our agents, with 46 years of combined insurance industry knowledge, will work closely with you to provide the best quote possible that meets the specific needs of your business.

MEET OUR BOARD MEMBERS

Dale Moon

President

Dale Moon graduated from the College of the Mainland and the University of Houston Clear Lake where he studied Public Administration.  In addition, he graduated from the Harris County Sheriff’s Academy and the Pasadena Policy Academy and worked in law enforcement, earning advanced certification, from 1977 until 1996.  During this time, he was a career agent with Famers Insurance Group from 1985 until 2006 and founded Moon Realty Partners in 1998.  In 2007, Dale became an independent agent founding Moon Insurance Managers.

He has extensive association experience with United Farmers Agents Association serving as president of the Houston Chapter from 1988 to 1992 before being elected national secretary of United Farmers Agents Association serving from 1993 to 2000.  He also served as the national director of legal affairs from 2001 to 2006.  In that position, he worked closely with the Coalition of Exclusive Agents in the areas of legislation and litigation.

Dale is married and has one daughter and two grandchildren.

He is president-elect for the Professional Insurance Agents Texas and serves as the chair of the membership committee.

Tim Thompson

President-Elect, CIC, CRIS, MLIS

Timothy Thompson founded Allison Thompson in 2006 in San Antonio and serves as president of the agency.  Prior, he worked as a producer from 2003 to 2006 for Brown & Brown Insurance Services of San Antonio responsible for commercial insurance sales and services after the acquisition of Gosling & Sachse / Bailey-Gosling Associates, where he served as owner and president from 1989 to 2003,

Previously, Thompson was the owner and president of Tim Thompson & Associates, a Nationwide Insurance Company that he founded in 1985 after working for Wausau Insurance Company where he began his insurance career in 1983.

Thompson served a distinguished 23-year career in the United States Air Force, United States Air Force Reserve and Texas Air National Guard as a fighter pilot, senior command post controller and Texas wing reserve coordinator, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  During his service, he earned several awards including the United States Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, United States Air Force Commendation Medal and the Einstein Award, a top academic award in undergraduate pilot training.  Thompson’s professional military education included Squadron Officer School and Air Command and Staff College.

As a community leader, Thompson has been active in many trade associations including past co-chairman of the government advocacy committee for the American Subtractors Association of San Antonio, as board member and government advocacy committee member of the American Subcontractors Association of Texas.  He assisted with Texas legislative lobbying efforts for ten years including acting as a witness for construction legislation and contributed to the negotiation and development of State bills.  Thompson is also active in the San Antonio Restaurant Association, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors of San Antonio, San Antonio Manufacturers Association, city, state and national level membership with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and affiliate and national level membership with the Professional Insurance Agents National Association.

Timothy Thompson has severed in advisory positions over the years including committee member, Austin branch chairman and Southern U.S. region committee member for CNA Insurance Company’s national agency advisory council, PACER, Texas Constructions Association worker’s compensation insurance trust, ManagedComp committee member and Nationwide Insurance Regional Action Group chairman.  Also, he was a guest lecturer for the New Producers School of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas.

Thompson received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University. He holds several designations and licenses including Local Recording Agents License, Risk Managers License, Certified Insurance Counselor, Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist and Management Liability Insurance Specialist.

Jeff Rea, CIC

Treasurer

Jeff Rea is the President of West Texas Insurance Exchange, Inc. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1984 with a degree in Business Administration and has been with the agency since 1985. Jeff’s primary focus is in commercial insurance sales, targeting medium to large accounts, and he has developed exclusive insurance programs for the oil and gas and environmental industries. As the company’s president, Jeff has worked very diligently in obtaining several recognized licenses that promote the company’s prestige, including a Local Recording Agents License and a Life and Health License.

Some of Mr. Rea’s business accomplishments include completing the Aetna Prime Agent School in Hartford, Connecticut in 1987 and receiving the Aetna Agent “Rookie of the Year” award in 1987. Mr. Rea completed the Aetna Commercial Insurance School at Hartford in 1988. In 1990, Jeff became a Certified Insurance Counselor appointed by the Board of Governors of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. He is currently working on becoming a Certified Risk Manager.

Jeff has proven to be a leader not only at West Texas Insurance Exchange, Inc., but also in the community, serving as a member of Leadership Odessa through the Odessa Chamber of Commerce and by appointment to the Board of Directors of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Rea has been recognized by several insurance companies as a Top Producer for their companies. Most recently, Jeff Rea was named top producer in 2017 by Texas Mutual Insurance.

Nohora Cifuentes

Secretary

Nohora has been serving her clients’ tax and insurance matters for over 20 years. She specializes in small business and corporation tax preparation and business planning. She also specializes in commercial insurance such as general liability, workers comp, excess, and auto. She brings the highest degree of exceptional experience to her clients by listening to their needs and working diligently with them to implement a plan that meets all their concerns. She loves working with first-time business owners as well as established companies. She believes in putting her clients first and maintaining the utmost level of professionalism.

David Gorman

CPIA, Past President and National Director

David Gorman started his career in the insurance industry in 1993 and opened his agency, Red Gorman Insurance in 2003.  He was appointed to the Professional Insurance Agents board of directors in 2013.  He has since served as president elect and now presides as president.  In 2014 and 2015, David was awarded the prestigious Texas Professional Insurance Agents David Almany Volunteer of the Year Award.  He holds membership with the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society (AIMS) and was elected to the board of directors in 2018.

Community service is a priority for David Gorman.  He has supported various initiatives in his local elementary school including a reading program where he donated three bicycles for the top readers.  For two additional projects, David provided much needed backpacks with school supplies and supported a kid’s favorite teacher initiative.

Currently, Gorman is President and National Director for the Professional Insurance Agents Texas and a board member of The AIMS Society.  He is a Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA).

David Gorman is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and enjoys his personal time riding motorcycles and spending time at the lake.

Thom Polvogt

Director

With over 38 years in the insurance industry, including 25 years with Nationwide, Thom leads a team of passionate professionals dedicated to helping customers get the right insurance at the best value.  Thom founded the Thom Polvogt Insurance Agency Group and Caleb Insurance Group over 25 years ago.

A Member of Nationwide Insurance Independent Contractors Association for over 20 years, he currently serves as its president.  Thom is active in numerous organizations including serving on the board of directors for YMCA, International Missions Board, Katy Cares, and the Mission Development Committee for his church.

When Thom is not supporting one of his over 3,500 customers or championing one of his numerous causes, he enjoys riding his bicycle and zipping through Katy, Texas on his Honda Gold Wing.
